When Jean Baptiste Point du Sable (French and Haitian descent) settled in what is now Chicago in the 1780s, he had no idea that this settlement would be incorporated on March 4, 1837. He also did not know that over 220 years later, Chicago would produce the first African-American president of the United States. Not to even mention that there would be jet planes carrying millions of people every year in and out of Chicago.
It has been said of Chicago residents, they are in love with Chicago. Given affectionate names like…”Chi-Town” and “Windy City”, Chicago takes care of it’s residents. In 1833 Chicago had only 200 residents. By 1840 there were over 4,000 residents. Chicago never looked back. Now there are over 2.8 million residents. The diversity is unmatched anywhere else. The food is second to none. The pizza is world renown.
Sometimes called “Chicagoland”, with over 2.7 million residents, this metro area has some of the most inviting business owners in the world. They show their hospitality by providing Great Service to their customers. In the spirit of Jean Baptiste Point du Sable, let’s open our welcoming arms to our stylists and become their customers.
We encourage you to continue to show your support for small business and the local merchants as local residents and visitors. Connect with them right here.
